Moving Beyond the Triggers & Blind Spots of your Personality Presented by Jaye Andres
Do certain people or situations push your buttons? Do you get feedback from others about your behavior that you just don’t understand? Do you keep running into the same issues over and over again in you relationships?
Triggers and blind spots could be the cause. Triggers are those things that “set us off” into reactivity. They prevent us from responding to situations in a present, balanced manner. Each of us, because of our particular world view, is predisposed to certain triggers. When someone pushes one of our trigger buttons most of go into automatic patterns of behavior that are counterproductive. Our perception of what is really happening becomes skewed. The tendency is to think the other person caused us to feel what we’re feeling rather than to recognize that we always have a choice in how we respond to any situation.
Intricately tied up with triggers are blind spots – those challenging behaviors that others see in us but we don’t. (We can also have blind spots about our positive traits.) Both triggers and blind spots keep us from leading a full, free and rich life. In this highly experiential workshop you will learn to:
- Recognize your personal physical cues of being triggered
- Respond from conscious choice rather than unconscious reactivity
- Be present and engaged in life
- Learn how to interact with others in ways that won’t trigger them
- Shine the light on your blind spots and move into your strengths
Knowledge of your Enneagram of Personality Type is helpful, but not necessary, for this workshop.
