AEA SPECIAL TOPIC: 9 Paths to Recovery with Renee Siegel on January 21, 2017

9 Paths to Recovery

Special Guest: Renee Siegel

Recovering from any addiction requires not just abstaining from the substance use or addictive behavior, but making lifestyle changes that support the recovery process. Recovery is about having a better quality of life and not just accumulating days of abstinence.

Each Enneatype in the process of recovery has a pattern that developed as a strategy to cope with the types perceptions and life situations. As we grow an understanding of our type, develop our inner observer and develop a greater presence to what is, we see additional ways to cope with life and other options necessary to implement change in our lives where it will enhance the quality of our existence and afford greater character development.

In this full day workshop, we will examine how each type has patterns that have contributed to spiraling into addiction. We will also learn how type pattern assists the recovery process and cultivates resilience.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Participants will be able to describe the differences between abstinence and recovery.
  2.  Participants will be able to describe the progression of addiction and recovery.
  3. Participants will be able to identify the defenses of each type and how they work with type.
  4. Participants will be introduced to the 12 Step Program and how the steps are related to the triads of intelligence.
  5. Participants will be introduced to aspects of each type’s character structure that contribute to both the progression of addiction and the road to recovery.

7 CEU’s through NAADAC, (National Association of Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counsel) are available to those attending this event. Fee is $10.00 for CEU Certificate payable at the door.

She was introduced to the Enneagram almost 10 years ago and it was “love at first sight and a game changer”. Since that time she has been an avid student of the enneagram. She specialized in 3 areas in using the enneagram: • Integrating Wellness Practices into Treatment • Improving Relationships both personally and professionally • Recovery from Substance and Process Addictions Renee has finished filming an addiction series where she has interviewed all nine types, each having both a substance and process addiction. She describes the enneagram as the “blueprint for health one can utilize when understanding the underlying energetic patterns that distract us from our journey in returning to wholeness.”
